Indonesian cuisine is diverse, in part because Indonesia is composed of approximately 6,000 populated islands. Many regional cuisines exist, often based upon cultural and foreign influences. Indonesian cuisine varies greatly by region and has many different influences.
Rich culture in Indonesian effect that their food are very diverse from Sabang, the west of Indonesian and Merauke, the east of Indonesian. Each region have different traditional dish and different way to cook their food. Majority, Indonesian people like their food is spicy and deep fried. for example, one of the famous dish in Indonesia, which is very famous in the world is rendang from Padang. The other famous Indonesian dish are satay and nasi goreng (fried rice).
Indonesian food nowadays are influent from food in other region, like Chinese, Dutch and India. Martabak, the famous beef pancake are coming from India influence. the other influence from other country in Indonesian is bistik sapi, like a beef stew , is coming from Dutch.
